float: left; height: 152px; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; width: 171px;" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />La Cofradía de la SANTA VERA CRUZ de BAILEN data de la segundad mitad del siglo XVI aunque la documentación encontrado data como constituida e13 de Abril de 1558, Domingo de Ramos, fecha en la que se celebra el primer Cabildo del que nos ha quedado constancia y que nos indica ya llevar algún tiempo constituida, por celebrarse éste para el nombramiento de los cargos para portar en la procesiones las Sagradas Imágenes del Santo Cristo y Maria Santísima.<br /><br />En el año 1660, Dª Maria del Pozo, viuda de Alcocer, hace donación a la Cofradía de la Santa Vera Cruz de las imágenes de Jesús Amarrado a la Columna y San Juan Evangelista, así como de las andas y objetos sagrados necesarios para su culto. A consecuencia de ello el 21 de Marzo de dicho año, en Cabildo celebrado por la Cofradía, Juan Lozano y veinticuatro hermanos más de la Cofradía se constituyen en escuadra con el objeto de servir y rendir culto a la Imagen de Jesús Amarrado a la Columna, solicitando para ello a la Cofradía la entrega de dicha Imagen y obligándose con ella a regirse por cuanto la Cofradía determinase. A ejemplo de ellos otros hermanos se constituirán en la misma fecha en Escuadra de San Juan Evangelista.<br /><br />En este mismo año de 1660, 1a Cofradía de Nuestra Señora de la Soledad se extingue, asumiendo 1a Cofradía de la Santa Vera Cruz el culto a las Imágenes de la Soledad y Santo Sepulcro. El veinticinco de Marzo de 1661, al igual que hicieran los hermanos de la Escuadra de Jesús, Luis Comino Godoy y otra treinta de hermanos más de la Cofradía de la Santa Vera Cruz solicitan a ésta la Imagen de Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, constituyéndose en Escuadra. Y asumiendo el culto a1 Santo Sepulcro la Escuadra de Jesús.<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XT0gSTL9urc/Svm6YRJWadI/AAAAAAAAABk/fvegHKQZ_XU/s1600-h/38.gif" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402554154089867730" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XT0gSTL9urc/Svm6YRJWadI/AAAAAAAAABk/fvegHKQZ_XU/s320/38.gif" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 283px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 227px;" /></a><br /><br />Todas estas Escuadras, integradas por hermanos de la Cofradía de la Santa Vera Cruz, quedaban obligadas a acatar la autoridad de dicha Cofradía y a asumir como propios los acuerdos adoptados por ella.<br /><br />Esta Cofradía posee una serie de datos sus imágenes, enseres con un alto historial de anécdotas y vicisitudes que por espacio es imposible de exponer en estas breves líneas, pero no queremos omitir algunos que creemos son importantes: en el año 1916 la Familia Martínez y Ramón donó el Cristo de la Expiración, el cual daría el nombre actual de la Ermita y por aquella época se trasladaron las Imágenes que mas tarde en la Guerra Civil serian quemadas en la misma puerta. Acaba la misma, se empezó a reconstruir de nuevo, ya que había sido dedicada a almacén de un escuadrón de caballería El Gallardete junto con los cetros fue lo único que pudo salvarse, gracias a la custodia que sobre los mismo realizo un cofrade apodado “El Negrito” que los guardo en el pajar de su casa.<br /><br />La talla de la Santa Cruz fue hecha por el artista local D. El que portan costaleros esta realizado en madera y alpaca plateada, realizado en los talleres de DIAZ RONCERO (CORDOBA), el que portan las costaleras realizado en talla en los talleres de D. José Miguel Tirao Carpio(Torredonjimeno-Jaén) y e1 tercero en alpaca plateada realizado en los talleres de GONZALO ANGULQ (LUCENA- CORDOBA).<br /><br />En e1 año 2005 se realizo la restauración de Jesús De Medinaceli en los talleres ALIEN'S de Alcaudete (Jaén)<br />En este año también se han restaurado varias Imágenes como son: Ecce-Homo (Cristo de la Humildad), Jesús Orando en el Huerto y Ntra. Sra.
